No shortage of Bieber Fever on the singles charts as the one-time child prodigy has left Calvin Harris, Walk The Moon and One Direction trailing in his wake...
Justin Bieber has made a dramatic return to the top of the Irish charts.
In the first week of its release, his new single, ‘What Do You Mean?’ has shot to the No.1 spot, racing past Weeknd’s hugely popular ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ – which holds down the No.2 slot. Still at No.3 are Calvin Harris & The Disciples, with ’Shut Up and Dance’. Meanwhile, there is an impressive re-entry for 5 Seconds of Summer with ’She’s Kinda Hot’ at No.6...
The now 21 year-old Bieber performed ‘What Do Yu Mean?' on the MTV Video Music Awards Show last weekend, and received a rapturous reception – to the extent that, clearly emotional, he cried immediately afterwards. Bieber has been through the wars in recent years, and the success of the single is likely to be seen as a vindication for the sometimes troubled former boy star.

Bieber’s single is clearly the highest new entry. Indeed the next newbie, Demi Lovato’e ‘Cool For The Summer’, is in at No.29. Also fresh to the charts this week is Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ‘Downtown’, which surfaces at No.35. The final newcomer in what is a very static chart is Little Mix’s ‘Hair’, which debuts at No.48.
