In advance of the Wild Records’ enfant terribles’ show we chat to label head honcho Reb Kennedy
“Delta Bombers show are truly life changing experiences; love, fury and raw power from a mix of rock n roll, blues and punk. All the good things you want to hear!” he laughs.
Raised in Dublin, Kennedy moved to London at the age of 20 and became an integral part of the music scene there. Yearning for a fresh challenge he moved to the US in 2000 and started Wild Records the following year.
“I started the label because I could not find music that I felt had real soul,” he states. “So I started looking for bands who where doing something that I felt was original, fresh and dangerous.”
Wild now boasts a stable of over 20 artists including The Black Mambas, Los Blancos and The Desperados. Its story - and that of Reb – inspired the award-winning documentary Los Wild Ones.

You can guarantee when a Wild Records band visits Dublin they will only play in The Thomas House. Reb is a big fan of the venue.
“It’s my favourite pub anywhere in the world; a bar that books amazing bands, a bar which will take a chance on new bands and has fantastic DJs playing all types of music,” he says. “There is nothing close to this bar in Los Angeles or anywhere else in the US. Dubliners don't know how lucky they are!”
The Delta Bombers play The Thomas House on Saturday night. Tickets available on the door
