The actor, Other Voices presenter and massive music fan would certainly have plenty to say about our Greatest Irish Gigs list, but you won't see him down Electric Picnic way...
It's fitting that Aidan Gillen, avid gig goer that he is, is interviewed in our Greatest Irish Gigs special this fortnight.
The Game Of Thrones star's latest role is in bittersweet Irish dramedy You're Ugly Too (out now), as he ditches brooding intensity in favour of a more comedic approach.
"At one point I realised there wasn't as much variety in my roles as I thought there should be," he says. "I felt I really needed to pinball people's expectations – I was getting sent all these very cold, villainous roles."
Of course, that brooding intensity has made him a household name and very familiar face, which brings its own problems.
Despite his passion for live music, he won't be heading to Electric Picnic this year.
"That's actually one of the places that it does get quite difficult," the Dubliner admits. "I found that quite hardcore the last time I was there. It's one thing people coming up to you on the street but if it's an enclosed environment like that, and people are in the festival mode, it can be quite crazy. People do all kinds of things. So I guess some things have changed."
