A completely new look to the business end this week...
A pretty remarkable seven days in terms of the Irish Indie Chart, as we get five new entries making up the Top 5.
Selling better than them all is Fight Like Apes' latest. Their third, eponymous album (they must have outgrown those gloriously long titles) is a deserving number one. In his Hot Press review, Edwin McFee called it an "alt pop tour de force" that contains their "best songs to date". Can't argue with that.
In at number two are alt. metal stalwarts Faith No More. Having reunited a couple of years back, Sol Invictus is the band's first album together since 1997's Album Of The Year.
We're big fans of The Eskies here in HP Towers and their debut certainly seems to be dong the business – After The Sherry Went Round is in third position. Irish folk is well represented with The Kilkennys' Colour Of Freedom in fourth. London purveyors of sophisticated electropop Hot Chip round off the Top 5 with their sixth studio album, Why Make Sense?.
