Budding radio stars can learn the tricks of the trade at Dublin City FM at the end of this month
Newsreaders, DJs, shock-jocks and chat show hosts of the future have an opportunity to learn the craft at a course in Dublin City FM later this month.
January 31 will see the station open its doors for a special course from the Irish Academy of Public Relations, where participants will get to spend plenty of time in studio, getting a flavour of what its like to own the airwaves.
“We are a nation of talkers," said Irish Academy head Ellen Gunning. "People want to learn how to present a programme on radio about a subject that they are passionate about. You find out how to research and structure questions, how to conduct an interview, read the news and put a vox-pop together."
Every participant will also leave with the all-important demo to show off their prowess. Places, though, are very limited, with just 12 spots available. They're unlikely to hang around for too long, so if you fancy trying your hand (and mouth), high-tail it over to the Irish Academy website here.
