Awful weather conditions mean the band can't make their ferry crossing.
Bad news for fans of Eagulls – the Leeds-based band have issued a statement confirming that their Dublin show in The Academy 2 this evening and date with Belfast's Limelight 2 tomorrow will not be going ahead.
A message from the act:
"VERY SORRY TO SAY DUE TO THE WEATHER WE'VE HAD TO CANCEL BOTH TODAY'S BELFAST SHOW & TOMORROW'S DUBLIN SHOW. ALL FERRY CROSSINGS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WIND AND RAIN, SO WE ARE STUCK •• PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH WHOEVER YOU PURCHASED A TICKET FROM FOR A FULL REFUND. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE'LL DO OUR BEST TO COME BACK OVER AS SOON AS WE CAN."
Refunds are available at [link]ticketmaster.ie[/link].
Eagulls have seen a massive rise in popularity over the past year being labelled as BBC Radio 6's Steve Lamacq's New Favourite Band in 2013 and performing on Later with Jools Holland in the UK and The Late Show with David Letterman in the US, and seeing their self-titled debut album receive positive reviews. The band has recently completed a headlining UK tour, along with supporting performances for the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Manic Street Preachers and Suede. Hopefully they'll be back in the near future.
