The worldwide smash makes an immediate impact on Irish shores.
Another week on the Irish singles chart brings another new song at the top. We're in the middle of the summer season and new records are coming at a rapid pace. This week sees two debuts in the top three and a shuffle amongst the usuals in the top ten.
Opening in the top spot is 'Problem' a collaboration between American singer Ariana Grande and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. The track is Grande's first Irish #1 and her first single to break the top 50, and seems to be Grande's international breakthrough, cracking the top five in seven other countries. Following Grande in the second spot is Ella Henderson's 'Ghost', knocked out of the top spot but holding strong after four weeks on the countdown.
Coming in at number three is another debut, Nico & Vinz's 'Am I Wrong', with the Norwegian duo making their first dent on the irish charts in a big way. Like Grande, the success of 'Am I Wrong' is part of a larger international breakthrough, with the single breaking the top five in eight other countries. Following them is last week's number two, John Legend's 'All Of Me', suffering a bit of a drop after 19 weeks on the charts. While Legend is falling, Coldplay is rising, with their latest single 'A Sky Full of Stars' moving up from eight to five.

The bottom half of the top ten contain no new entries, instead seeing singles that placed three to seven from last week's top ten falling three spots due to the two strong debuts and the jump by Coldplay. Coming in at six is 'Don't Stop' by 5 Seconds of Summer, falling from the third spot, but it's not all bad as the single comes off of the current number one album in the country. Also witnessing a fall is Sam Smith's 'Stay With Me', falling from number four to seven. Keeping with the theme, Mr. Probz' 'Waves' falls from five to eight, Klingande's 'Jubel' falls from six to nine, and Ed Sheeran's 'Sing' falls from seven to ten.
Check in next week to see if Grande and Nico & Vinz can maintain their strong debuts, Coldplay can keep rising up the charts and what other surprises are on offer.
