The former Monkee has announced a September show in Dublin.
Michael Nesmith has many strings to his bow – television star, film producer, bobble hat enthusiast – though his upcoming performance in Dublin's Vicar street will focus primarily on his musical endeavors.
The Movies Of The Mind tour that Nesmith will be giving its first Irish airing on September 30 offers a truly unique blend of song and storytelling as Nesmith walks us through his career, from humble folk singer beginnings to the world-conquering heyday of The Monkees and beyond.
“A narrative setting has always accompanied each song in my mind", says Nesmith describing the Movies in Mind experience, "not so much what the song is about but more how it is set, like a gemstone in a ring or bracelet -- and I started introducing the songs with these narratives during a tour in the UK. The response was so positive that I refined the form and kept expanding the idea until Movies of the Mind came into being.”

Nesmith possesses a remarkably vast body of work and is undoubtedly one of the great unsung songwriters of his generation. Considering the man's world renowned charm and capacity to captivate audiences for 50 odd years this is certainly one to pencil into the diary.
