At The Workman’s Club Dublin on April 13
They have been called Weird, cool, majestic, and intense.
The Revelator Orchestra in all their glory will be hitting the Workman’s Club on April 13.
The show will be preceded by the unveiling of the video for a new track entitled ‘Isaac Miller’, a taster from their forthcoming second album The Brotherhood of the Flood
The Revelator Orchestra began in 2009 as a collaboration between writer Peter
Murphy (John the Revelator, Shall We Gather at the River) and producer/musician Acko. Their debut album The Sounds of John the Revelator, released in 2012, was compared to Tom Waits, the Velvets and William Burroughs.
We here at Hot Press described it as “the end of the world news narrated by the preacher from the black lagoon, scored by Aphex Twin’s evil siblings and directed by Hieronymus Bosch”
Wordy metphorical praise.

Then came the addition of vocalist and co-writer Paula Cox in 2013, since then the group have played headline shows in Wexford, London and at Wales’s Portmeirion No. 6 festival. They’ve collaborated with Colm Mac Con Iomaire (The Frames, The Swell Season), performed in tandem with Maria Doyle Kennedy at Electric Picnic, and also recorded a track for Kevin Godley’s Whole World Band app.
The Revelator Orchestra’s just-completed second album The Brotherhood of
the Flood, inspired by Peter’s current novel Shall We Gather At the River, will
be released later this year.
