The November 6 presentation of the Cannabis Regulation Bill 2013 to Dáil Éireann will be accompanied by a 7pm – 10pm protest rally outside Leinster House.
Keynote speakers will include Tom Lloyd, the former Chief Constable of Cambridge, who after 28 years at the prohibition coalface believes that, “The War On Drugs is very harmful and counterproductive; it’s been a failure. When it comes to cannabis, they should introduce control and regulation of drugs by the government, as opposed to no control and no regulations.”
He’ll be joined on the platform by Deputy Luke Flanagan, NORML Ireland founder Kevin Higgins and fellow board members Stuart Clark from Hot Press and Doctors Garrett McGovern and Cathal Ó Súiliobháin.
