Waterford-based musician, Andrew Martin has just releases the music video for the debut single 'Sun Bleached' under his "multiple personas" of Zola Daze.
At first glance, Zola Daze's FB page plays them up as a band, saying that their members consist of Andrew, Antonio, and Martini. Dig a little deeper and you soon discover that Zola Daze is the brainchild of Cork-born Andrew Martin.
Even the press release to announce the debut song plays up Zola Daze as a "band".
It reads: "With their debut single 'Sun Bleached', Zola Daze insist on attention. An outstanding song that marks the band as a definite one to watch. With traces of psychedelia and oriental melodies but with a pop twist Zola Daze have created something beautiful and original. With the EP on the way we await to see if this work can stand as tall as this first single."
It then states: "Zola Daze marks the consolidation of multi-instrumentalist, Waterford based musician, Andrew Martin’s, diverse path in music.
"Mystical, textured, yet boot-stompingly fun, it fuses the world of rock psychedelia with oriental melodies, while being curiously steeped in the dramatic mountain scenery of the south of Ireland.
"It’s a project that begs and rewards repeated listening, as Andrew sashays through multiple personas to provide an unpredictable musical voyage."
