The Years & Years frontman had the throngs of Glastonbury cheering for all the right reasons.
Olly Alexander has become an advocate and activist for the LGBTQ community through his willingness and openness to talk about the difficulties faced by them.
As well as it being Glastonbury weekend, it was also Pride weekend. Mid-set Alexander took this opportunity to address the crowd on the recent crimes that have been committed against LGBTQ people and encouraged them to "shove a rainbow in fear's face". The openly gay frontman has spoke in detail about his own battles with depression and anxiety whilst growing up in a 'straight world'. Looking like a rainbow himself in a multicolored poncho, Alexander's defiant speech was intermitted by roars of encouragements and appreciation from the crowd.
You can watch and feel proud by Alexander's whole speech below.
