A blast of the Dublin Gospel Choir & a chat with Django Django have us in top festival mood!
Sunday wouldn't be Sunday at the Electric Picnic without a righteous blast of the Dublin Gospel Choir who just offered up a particularly celestial version of Ella Eyre's 'Hold My Hand'.
As coincidence would have it, the Electric Arena has kicked off with another Hozier-associated combo, Wyvern Lingo.
"A lot has changed for us since we last played the Picnic," notes singer Karen Cowley and indeed it has with a heavyweight new manager, record deal and a raft of mainstream media attention. There's fresh material in the shape of 'Beast At The Door', which turns the malevolence levels up to '11', and bodes well for its soon-to-be-released parent EP.
First up in the Hot Press Chatroom were charming men Django Django who spent Saturday night hanging with the locals in Stradbally.
The zen-like qualities of Brian Eno, writing for the Royal Shakespeare company, future careers as pantomime dames, Michael Fassbender, Louis Theroux and Idris Elba were among the topics of discussion in a lively interview conducted by Roisin Dwyer.
We're looking forward to catching them at 5.45pm in the Electric Arena.
Meanwhile, whoever's playing Guns N' Roses' 'Sweet Child Of Mine' on their violin elsewhere in MindField deserves a big hug and/or a drink!
