The video features the indie rock group dancing around the streets of New York City and serves as the lead single for their hotly anticipated third album Heads Up which will be out on September 24.
Warpaint have spent the last few years dropping singles here and there in lieu of building up to an actual album but finally the Los Angeles-based band have emerged from the sidelines to the forefront where they belong.
Featuring in this week's issue of Hot Press, Warpaint talked about the band's development and growth over the two year hiatus since their self-titled sophomore album was released. "We've all evolved," says Koral, " the things that used to work in the band may not work anymore. The upshot is that the old rules no longer apply. You have to develop or you're going to be contained within something that just doesn't fit. A lot of this record was us figuring that out."
Influenced stylistically by Björk, Janet Jackson, Kendrick Lamar and Outkast, Heads up seems less an album title and more a warning to listeners that they're about to hear something entirely unexpected and original. Watch this space...
