Guinness Live in Galway: details announced

Wallis Bird, Bipolar Empire and more are coming to the Latin Quarter later this month.

Proving that festivals aren't just summer, the end of September sees GUINNESS LIVE bringing a host of great acts to Galway's Latin Quarter for the third time. With 40 performances spread out over four nights from Thursday September 26, there will be plenty to see and hear.

Nathan Connolly of Snow Patrol fame will be joining Jimmy Symington for a DJ set, whilst the likes of BiPolar Empire, Simon Fowler and Oscar Harrison (Ocean Colour Scene), The Complete Stone Roses, Kila, Hermitage Green, Wallis Bird and This Club will all play. Terri Hooley's also going to be on the decks.

Moodsets EP

Unique of voice and dextrous of guitar-playing, Wexford girl Wallis Bird’s singer-songwriter fare manages not to be music to get depressed to. While stately pieces ‘The Circle’ and ‘Oklahoma’ are a cut above most acoustic-led introspection, her skills are better displayed on ‘Moodpieces’ and ‘Beep Beep’ – semi-electronic tunes with acoustic playing closer to Four Tet than Ani DiFranco . A release that proves that being big in Germany can mean brilliance.
