After an extraordinary opening quarter to 2016, the Dingle stars join the likes of Editors, The Kooks, Bell X1 and Ash at the head of the bill for the Mitchelstown festival
Walking On Cars have been announced as special guest headliners for Indiependence 2016.
The Mitchelstown weekender, which takes place July 29 - 31, will see the Dingle quintet join fellow Irish acts like Bell X1 and Ash, as well as international stars Editors and The Kooks, at the head of the bill.
No strangers to Deer Farm, Walking On Cars climbed their way up from playing on small stages to small crowds to a rip-roaring performance there in 2014: at the time, our very own 'Mystic Meg' Colm O'Regan wrote, "they looked every inch the future headliners many expect them to be". Attempts to shake down Mr. O'R for the weekend's Lotto numbers are ongoing.
Of course, it's just another feather in the increasingly impressive cap for the band, who've already graced the cover of Hot Press, topped the charts with the platinum-selling Everything This Way, and seen their star in the ascendency in the UK and further afield...and it's only March!
Despite that, it's already too late to get your hands on early-bird tickets for Indiependence, with three tiers already sold out. Weekend camping tickets for the festival now on sale at €119.
