Van Morrison has been confirmed as one of the star turns at this year’s Limerick Jazz Festival, which takes place from September 25-27 and, as part of the City of Culture celebrations, is pulling out all the stops programme-wise.
The Belfast troubadour pays an opening night visit to the University Concert Hall while another musical great, David Sanborn, plays a grand finale show in the Lime Tree Theatre.
Also doing their respective things are Nigel Mooney, Richie Buckley, Julie Siegel, Crisis Point Big Band, Dublin City Jazz Orchestra and lots more.
Meanwhile, Van has also announced the October 21 publication of his Lit Up Inside lyric-book.
“The lyrics span 50 years of writing and as such are representative of my creative journey,” reflects Van who’s also confirmed a November 17 event at London’s Lyric Theatre at which he’ll be joined by such literary pals as Eamonn Hughes, Ian Rankin, Edna O’Brien.
