They're coming to Belfast and Dublin this November.
A nation held its breath once again this morning, this time in front of their computer screens, as tickets went on sale for U2's homecoming arena dates at 9am. As ever with such in-demand gigs, there was frustration as all tickets for the two nights in Belfast's SSE Arena and for 3Arena Dublin shows were snapped up in less than an hour.
It's confirmation, not that it was needed, that U2 have lost none of their appeal.
It also lends credence to Bono's latest comment in Q magazine, with the U2 frontman declaring his band to be "the most interesting" act around.
"I really believe the band is a very special thing and we're taking bigger risks than anybody with a brain would," he told the UK publication. "I think we're certainly the most interesting band, love us or loathe us, and I think it would be a shame if we weren't around, really."
