U2 got their fair share of limelight at last night's Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles
U2 were among the big winners at last night's Grammys with 'Vertigo' adjudged to be 'Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal', 'Best Rock Song' and 'Best Short-Form Music Video'.
The band were on hand to perform 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own', which just hours earlier had debuted at number one on the UK singles chart.
Bono was also in the thick of things later on when he joined Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones, Alicia Keyes, Velvet Revolver, Tim McGraw, Brian Wilson and Al Green for a fundraising performance of 'Across The Universe'. Meanwhile, Larry Mullen used one of their acceptance speeches to apologise again to fans who haven't been able to get tickets for their Vertigo tour.
Elsewhere at the Los Angeles gong-giving ceremony, there were eight posthumous Grammys for Ray Charles, and surprise awards for Basement Jaxx ('Best Electronic/Dance Album'), Loretta Lynn ('Best Country Album') and Motorhead ('Best Metal Performance').
