It's a treasure trove for all fans of the band...
As U2 make their triumphant return to Croke Park, Hot Press relives all of the band’s epic tours; gets the best backstage stories from Imelda May, Snow Patrol, Jerry Fish, Interpol and more of the big names who’ve toured with them; meet the super-fans who follow them around the world; and guide you through all their concert films.
Also starring in the special U2 Croke Park Souvenir Issue of Hot Press is Cillian Murphy who’s on the Oscar prowl with new film, Dunkirk.
“Dunkirk was an incredible moment in World War II, and in British history as a whole,” the Cork star reflects. “It was the result of a wartime offensive that went terribly wrong, leaving hundreds of thousands of soldiers stranded on the coast of France. But it was redeemed by the will and determination of the people to bring these boys home. That’s the ‘Miracle at Dunkirk.’ The scope of this immense evacuation, under extreme duress and despite impossible odds, speaks to both the unity of a nation, and the sacrifice and heroism of individual soldiers and civilians. They came together, and were ultimately able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.”
Elsewhere, Minister for Employment & Social Protection, Regina Doherty, pulls absolutely no political punches in the Hot Press Interview.
“In regards to rape or incest, it’s a no brainer for me,” she says advocating Repeal Of The 8th. “I would never even question a woman who didn’t want to carry a baby that’s a result of an act of violence against a woman.”
Add in the verdicts on the Longitude, Trinity Summer Series and Iveagh Gardens gigs; Royal Blood; Game Of Thrones; and hit Irish indie film, Sanctuary, and you’ve another not to be missed Hot Press!
