With their new album Gameshow out next month on October 14, Two Door Cinema Club have give us a taster of what to expect with their new single 'Bad Decisions'.
The Northern Irish band seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth for a while until this June when they released 'Are We Ready? (Wreck)', the lead single from their third studio album. And while their lead single gave us the kind of catchy indie rock hooks we've come to expect from Two Door Cinema Club, 'Bad Decisions' rings out a new TDCC era altogether with its cacophony of sound and its of mixing of heavy synth with guitar riffs that would rival Nile Rodgers or any disco hit from the '70s or '80s. Alex Trimble's falsetto has never sounded stronger as well.
But topping all this is a music video that feels conceived from your darkest acid trip. Inspired by Dante's Inferno , the video jumps from pokey sketches of lurid, sexual-suggestive cartoons, to a neon backdrop reminiscent of Tron and early video games in a relentless, inexplicable kaleidoscope of colour. Accused of playing it safe with their sophomore album Beacon , the band have finally shown us just how creative they can be. We look forward to hearing what their new album has to offer.
