Tricky is looking for Irish rappers - and he's asked Hot Press to scout 'em out!
Tricky has asked Hot Press to help find him some Irish rappers.
"I had some Irish guys years and years ago that I was fucking with, but they were too into their valium and alcohol," he tells us down the trans-Atlantic blower from Los Angeles. "I wanna work with some kids who are into keeping their accents and talking about Ireland. I don't want people pretending their from South Central or Compton 'cause I've got that just down the road from me."
Tricky hopes that if somebody fits the bill he can hook up with them when he comes over to do Witnness.
"I'm into a lot of different things at the moment – my own music, a film soundtrack and a label that I'm signing stuff to," he resumes. "It's an exciting time and I'd like to bring some other people along with me for the ride."
If you reckon you've got what the Bristolian's looking for, send demos or finished product to Tricky Rapper, 13 Trinity Street, Dublin 2 and we'll pass 'em on to him.
