Also check out these killer tunes from Ricky Warwick's double album
Thin Lizzy mark the 30th anniversary of Philip Lynott's passing and the 40th anniversary of Jailbreak being released by reconvening for a bunch of shows, which kick off with the Ramblin' Man Fair in Ashford, Kent (July 23).
If you like your classic rock with a side order of sea air, they're also participating in the Rock Legends Cruise V, which leaves Fort Lauderdale on January 19, 2017 and stops off in Cozumel, Mexico before returning to Florida on the 23rd.
With Brian Downey unable to make it due to unspecified personal reasons, drumming duties fall to Motörhead man Mikkey Dee who enthuses: “It’s an honour to be asked to play with Thin Lizzy on these dates, being a life long fan I am so happy and excited to playing with the band on these shows. It’s going to be great!”
Completing the line-up are Darren Wharton and the Black Star Riders trio of Scott Gorham, Damon Johnson and Ricky Warwick.
“With Black Star Riders taking some time off the road to work on their third album, I thought it would be really cool to do some Thin Lizzy shows as it’s an anniversary year, to have some fun and to re-live the good old days," says Scott. "We will only do half-a-dozen or so dates to keep them special. We have the incredible Mikkey Dee on the drum stool, which we are all very excited about. We will announce who is on bass shortly."
Multitasking types that they are, Ricky Warwick has a new double album, When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues)/Hearts On Trees out on February 26.
