Irish metalheads Therapy? will be bringing their Wood & Wire acoustic tour to Whelans, Dublin this April, offering their fans a rare chance to see the band in a different context.
The set will consist of ‘acoustic/unplugged’ re-workings of songs from their extensive back catalogue.
Frontman Andy Cairns says:
"We in Therapy? are proud and excited to announce that we'll be taking our music on the road in an acoustic setting. This will be a challenge for us and hopefully a chance for our fans to hear the melodies, guitars and rhythms in unique settings. We'll be working on songs from across all our albums and in intimate environments we'll be able to give insights into the stories and influences behind them. We'd love you to join us in helping make this a celebratory experience"
Outsiders from day one, Therapy? have drawn upon feelings of alienation, frustration and dislocation for strength and inspiration across their remarkable 26 year career, crafting a dark, idiosyncratic worldview which has garnered the group a reputation as one of the most uncompromising, creative and individualistic bands of their generation.
2015's Disquiet, produced by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood / Band of Skulls / Turbowolf), extended this legacy, and proved the trio are in incendiary form. The band’s fourteenth studio album and their first recording for new label Amazing Record Co., Disquiet, has been widely hailed as a worthy sequel to their iconic album, Troublegum, and featured on numerous Albums of the Year lists, with Metalhammer proclaiming: “Therapy? (have) released a batch of killer songs that sound like an all-new Greatest Hits collection.”
