The xx stay on top of the Indie Chart

Gloomy trio's second effort is a non-mover...

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 21 Sep 2012

Interviewed in the latest edition of Hot Press, London lo-fi outfit The xx have reasons to be cheerful this week with Coexist - their follow up to debut album xx taking the top spot in the Irish Indie chart for the second week running.

Two Door Cinema Club's Beacon also holds firm in second place while Adele continues to be a chart mainstay as 21 climbs one spot to #3. The chart's highest new entry goes to Shields, the new effort from Grizzly Bear and recipient of a glowing review in the new HP. New Heathers album Kingdom rounds out the top five while Glen Hansard, The Coronas, Aimee Mann, The Original Rudeboys and Adele (again!) make up the rest of the top ten.
