The Waterboys are to take their show based on the poems of WB Yeats to the O’Reilly Theatre at Wexford Opera House next month
The show, on November 5, entitled An Appointment With Mr Yeats, fuses the poetic power of one of the world’s revered literary figures with the visceral music of one of the most vital live bands in contemporary rock.
The twenty Yeats poems in the programme span the poet’s various humours, from wry to romantic, and rustic to mythological. It includes famous and lesser-known works, such as 'The Hosting Of The Shee', 'Mad As The Mist And Snow', 'Politics', 'The Song Of Wandering Aengus', 'News For The Delphic Oracle', 'An Irish Airman Foresees His Death' and 'The Four Ages Of Man'.
The show will also include a selection of Waterboys favourites rearranged for this particular presentation.
