One of our Hot For ’09 bands, The Virgins, make their Dublin debut on April 25 in The Academy. Tickets are €15.
Hailing from New York, the quartet earned their stripes supporting the likes of Jet, Patti Smith and Sonic Youth, and signed last year to Atlantic Records.
They’ve five tracks up on myspace.com/thevirginsnyc, which suggest that it won’t be long before they’re giving their neighbours MGMT and Vampire Weekend a run for their greenbacks.
As for the aforementioned Sonic Youth, they’ve a new album, The Eternal, primed for June release on Matador, which Thurston Moore promises is “replete with juicy supersonic songs.”
