Cryptic clues and a one on one revelation have sent fans in to a hopeful frenzy.
Iconic Manchester rock band The Stone Roses look set to release a new single this week after cryptic clues began appearing online.
It began when one Twitter user posted the following image after meeting with bassist Mani. The user claims Mani told him a new single will be out next week and to keep listening to the radio.

Since then numerous other images have appeared on Twitter of billboards and posters of a lemon right across Manchester. One post came from the Vinyl Revival record store in the city's Northern Quarter close to the famous Dry Bar venue.
Now known as Lemon Street. Obviously news coming. Not my publicity stunt for all the non believers. #stoneroses pic.twitter.com/Z4j3jF1RMs

The hashtag #thestoneroses is also trending in the UK.
The last new music heard from the group was 1994's second album, Second Coming. Frontman Ian Brown has previously confirmed to NME in March that they were recording new music in London.
