The Script, FKA Twigs and more feature this fortnight. Get your hands on it now...
Having said goodbye to summer with a bang at Electric Picnic, it’s time for students everywhere to knuckle down for another college year.
Our Hot Press cover stars are a group of Irish lads also getting back to work; after a brief hiatus, The Script are preparing to unleash their album No Sound Without Silence. Ahead of its release – and a homecoming spectacular in Dublin Castle – the boys chat to Stuart Clark about their new record, famous friends and that ubiquitous topic of conversation, Garth Brooks.
Another big name in this issue is FKA Twigs. Music’s most talked about newcomer talks to Hot Press about growing up mixed race in Britain’s whitest town, her dread of selfies, and why nobody tells her what to do.
The new issue is part one of our student special, the must-have guide for those preparing to hit both the books and the town. We have everything from tips on accommodation and budgeting to the key albums, films and books you’ll need to know during your time at the seat of learning.
The Hot Press Interview is with USI President Laura Harmon, who discusses policy, sexuality, mental health and a whole lot more besides. There’s also a guide to looking good with our student fashion feature, and the lowdown on the clubs and societies worth checking out on campus.
Elsewhere, we're rounding up our Electric Picnic experience, running the rule over Kate Bush’s comeback, giving our take on new albums from Interpol and Hozier, and talking to author Adrain McKinty.
As ever, this is merely the tip of the iceberg; to check out what else is in store this fortnight, pick up the new issue of Hot Press tomorrow!
