The Mighty Stef is returning to his home country for a smattering of live dates.
The Mighty Stef has confirmed visits to the Ballyknockan Music Festival, Wicklow (July 13); Crawdaddy, Dubin (14); and The Stables, Mullingar (August 2).
Now under the wing of former Thin Lizzy and Pogues manager Frank Murray, Stef ran into a spot of bother last week whilst touring round the States where he’s now based.
“After three great nights in New Orleans, St Petersburg and Fort Lauderdale respectively playing to three packed venues of really amazing audiences, I stepped into an after hours pub called The Poorhouse with some of the Flogging Molly lads, took my eye off my bag and guitar and they were stroked. The guitar belonged to my good friend Ciaran Dwyer from BOAI, the bag contained a video camera belonging to Frank, my passport, wallet, a large sum of cash and some other personal affects.”
The cheerier news is that his new-ish single, ‘Poisonous Love’, has been garnering loads of airplay on the country’s more discerning radio stations. Equal parts Cathal Coughlan and Nick Cave, its culled from his The Sins Of Sainte Catherine album.
