It was a busy night over at the Mickey Mouse House as several projects have been confirmed and are on our way.
Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book has had its high praises sung by audiences and critics alike and its only been in cinemas less than 2 weeks.
Rumours have been swirling around these planned film prospects but overnight Disney put an end to all that speculation by confirming that an abundance of classics are to be reimagined whilst there will be sequels to the success live-adaptations that they've enjoyed so far. Jungle Book and Maleficient sequels are definite with Jon Favreau back to direct Mowgli's adventures whilst Angelina Jolie will reprise her role as Maleficient.
A spin-off 101 Dalmatians entitled Cruella where Emma Stone will don the fur cape skinned from innocent little puppies. Emily Blunt will star as Mary Poppins set years after the original. Tim Burton is on his Disney directing duties as he will oversee the remaking of Dumbo and Burton will work with Reese Witherspoon as Peter Pans little minion Tinkerbell in her own live adaptation.
It's quite the line-up that Disney have in store but considering the success that their back catalogue re-adaptations that they've garnered so far, it is of no surprise. There are planned releases for July 2017, April 2018, August 2018 and December 2019.
