Where would U2 be without this guitar wizard?
U2 are the undisputed champions of rock, but they wouldn't have earned this title if it wasn't for the musical genius of David Howell Evans aka 'The Edge'.
With a career spanning several decades, the Edge has never stopped displaying musical mastery. From the 1987 global smash hit The Joshua Tree to their most recent album Songs of Innocence, he has secured a place as one of the greatest rock guitarists in history. There are few musicians who can float effortlessly between stunning arpeggios and explosive electric riffs quite like the Edge.
He is no stranger to the pages of Hot Press. Check out this 1994 interview where he discusses the rise of Irish talent with our man Stuart Clark. See more here
Then there's this more recent interview in 2015, where he tells Hot Press' Olaf Tyaransen about importance of U2's Irish fanbase, his fears regarding the rise of Donald Trump and his views on Repealing the 8th. See more here
