With a major deal inked, the Dublin band are now label mates with U2, Snow Patrol and more in the greater Universal Music family.
A giant next step in The Coronas' career was confirmed this morning. Appearing on Ryan Tubridy's RTÉ 2fm show, Danny O'Reilly announced that they have penned a deal with Island Records in the UK.
Having released their three records to date on their own 3ú, it means album number four – due for late 2014 – will now be a major label affair.
O'Reilly told Tubridy: "We’ve been very lucky. This year has gone very well for us. Since we moved over to London things are starting to move along. We actually got some great news in the last couple of weeks. We signed to a major label over here called Island Records who are brilliant.
“It’s a good moment for us. It doesn’t guarantee anything, it’s not the be all and end all having a major label, but it’s the reason we came over here.”
