The Beatles: Eight Days A Week is an upcoming documentary film directed by Ron Howard.
The documentary is set for theatrical release in August and then it will be handed over to Hulu, the American streaming service.
The Beatles: Eight Days A Week chronicles the early days of the iconic Fab Four in their early days between 1962 and 1966. It's been made with the full cooperation and blessing of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono and the late George Harrison's wife, Olivia. The documentary will feature unseen footage and indepth insight from members of the band and director Ron Howard has challenged himself to make the most immersive cinematic concert experience.
"We are going to be able to take the Super 8 footage that we found, that was all shot silent," Howard explained to The Rolling Stone in 2014 "We'll not only be able to digitally repair a lot of that, but we've also been finding the original recordings. We can now sync it up and create a concert experience so immersive and so engaging, I believe you're going to actually feel like you're somewhere in the Sixties, seeing what it was like to be there, feeling it and hearing it. And as a film director, that's a fantastic challenge."
This is the first exclusive documentary film feature to be streamed on Hulu and promises the first of many to follow. As it stands, Hulu currently isn't available in this region but with stats showing a 30% increase since last year it mightn't be long before we'll be signing ourselves up for subscription.
