George Harrison loses his battle against cancer
There was a cloud over Trinity Street – and the rest of the music loving world – this week as news filtered through from Los Angeles that George Harrison had lost his battle against cancer.
The 58-year-old’s wife Olivia and son Dhani were both at his bedside when he died at a friend’s house.
"I am devastated and feel very sad," says Paul McCartney. "We knew he’d been ill for a long time. He was a lovely guy and a very brave man and had a wonderful sense of humour. I remember all the beautiful times we had together and I’d like to remember him like that, because I know he would like to be remembered like that. He’ll be sorely missed by everyone."

It was an open secret in music biz circles that Harrison was seriously ill, with Ronnie Wood revealing in his Hotpress interview that the Stones had only last week sent him a "keep your chin up" message.
There’ll be a full appreciation of the Beatles legend in our Christmas Annual, available on December 13th.
