The Cork Flood Appeal Benefit Night, in association with Cork Business Association, is being held in order to raise much needed funds for those whose homes and possessions were recently destroyed by the severe flooding, throughout which much of the country was under water.

To offer their support to this worthy cause, several bands and artists have generously donated their time and talent to perform on the night of the benefit. The line up on the night will include such acts as, The Marvels, Oceans 6, Simply Minds, Setmaker and Fiona Kiely.

The Marvels are Europe's newest high energy entertainment band and are made up the cream of Ireland's session musician's and entertainers. These guys are not you typical band, so if you are looking for something special and different and with a new and exciting vibe, then these guys are it. With a mix of groove, funk and hip-hop, you won't be leaving the dancefloor while this band are on.

Oceans 6 are another band that will be taking to the stage on the night. Oceans 6 deliver high quality performances with an energetic mix of Swing, Soul and Rock 'N' Roll. Fronted by vocalists Conor O'Brien & Julie Kelleher, since getting together in 2006 this band has evolved and expanded and now play and extensive and upbeat mix of dome of the best music of the last sixty years.

Also playing on the night are Simply Minds, Ireland's only Simple Minds tribute act. Playing all the hits from the band who achieved world-wide success with such classic's as, 'Don't You(Forget About Me)' and 'Alive and Kicking', Simply Minds are a high quality tribute act who are sure to entertain throughout the night.

Setmaker are an alternative Indie/Rock band who hail from Clonakilty in West Cork. The band have been together since 2004 and have established a steady following in Cork and further afield. The band have played the 'Clonakilty International Guitar Festival' for the last three years and cite The Frames, Bell X1 and Jeff Buckley as their influences.

Fiona Kiely is an unsigned singer and keys player from Cork, and is playing gigs in the City with the talented Greg Aherne on drums. Her songs are catchy, soulful and powerful, and her voice and unique style are quickly earning her a fan base.

With such an array of talent taking to the stage it would be a shame to miss this wonderful night, so come along and lend your support for this worthy cause.
