The Chakras release new single

'We The People' sounds positively huge!

Dublin spiritually-attuned rockers The Chakras have re-swizzled their track 'We The People' for their upcoming debut album and the results are pretty epic! The track, which originally circulated in 2008 has been given a slightly more widescreen sheen, possibly the result of a recent mixing session with renowed producer Chris Potter which recalls not only 'Love is Noise'-era The Verve but other British heavyweights Kasabian and Muse with it's prominent breakbeat and stadium-ready chorus. It's all very exciting and with single and album details coming soon as well as information on summer live dates, expect to hear quite a deal more about this young band here!

Build Me A Swan ushers in a self confessed ‘second stage’ for the Chakras and, by the sounds of it, the rethink has done them wonders. They’re starting to sound like a six piece, shot through with the ambition to make big records. For something most probably recorded on a small budget, this is an impressively far reaching release, seven tracks, each one an epic.

Their name comes from a Hindu meditation technique but The Chakras are indie rockers of the old school.

If political philosophers needed proof that man is inherently prejudiced, they need only consider about how one would expect a band called The Chakras to sound. The mental image of skinny white hippies whipping out a guitar to show appreciation to rainclouds and nature-at-large is all too compelling. But it takes all of the first two notes of their debut single to throw that idea out the window and litter the street with it. In fact, it’s as indie as they come, sounding like Ireland’s take of The Kooks. No bad starting point.
