Today in Kanye/Taylor news...
The Taylor/Kanye/Kim spat continues to excite, especially with the towering climax that was the #kimexposedtaylorparty. And it's certainly not done yet: it seems Taylor really might file a police report against Kanye West.
Swift and her legal team had previously warned Kimye against leaking videos of Taylor approving some of the offending lyrics from 'Famous'. They demanded the tapes be destroyed and asserted that the recordings meant a felony charge, since Taylor claims to have not known she was being recorded.
Taylor is reportedly still considering legal action, even though it seems her case is not as solid as her lawyers might have led on.
In California, the state relevant to the legal proceedings, both parties must consent to a call being recorded if the conversation is private. However, Taylor and Kanye's conversation took place over speaker phone with multiple people in the studio, including producer Rick Rubin. Thus, Swift seems to lack the "expectation of privacy" needed for her case.
The pop singer reportedly says she did not know other parties were privy to her call, which she may attempt to base her case around.
Though Taylor clearly approves the lyrics "For all my Southside n****s that know me best/I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex" in the videos, she asserts that she never knew she would be referred to as "that bitch". Additionally, she says Kanye promised she would get to hear the finished song before its release, which she claims did not happen.
