TIDAL is now available in the Republic Of Ireland.
With the streaming services like Spotify firmly entrenched in the public conscious, the latest entry into the market is focusing on high fidelity, lossless sound as its selling point. We've seen Neil Young's Pono player and heard Sony's plans for a new Walkman in the race to get better quality audio to the people – now comes a new piece of software.
TIDAL has just launched and offers a Hi-FI lossless streaming service providing a bit rate over four times higher than similar services, essentially meeting CD standards. It boasts a library of over 25 million tracks and 75,000 videos and the app is available to music lovers in the Republic, ad-free, for €19.99 per month.
"Ireland, as the rest of the world, is seeing a strong increase in music streaming subscriptions, as well as a high interest for high quality audio," said TIDAL CEO Andy Chen. "With TIDAL on mobile, computers or home audio products from the likes of Sonos, Denon, Bluesound and Linn, it’s now time to finally enjoy a true high fidelity service with lossless sound quality, HD music videos and curated editorial. We have already seen substantial interest from music lovers in Ireland signing up to our waiting list so we are delighted to be able to launch the service there today."
