Video mayhem from Steel Panther, Maximo Park and Fight Like Apes
The pubs are closed – in Ireland anyway – so we thought we’d brighten your Good Friday up with a gawp at Steel Panther, the spoof L.A. hair metallers who star in the current issue of Hot Press’ Caught In The Net column.
With Avril Lavigne, P!nk, Billy Ray Cyrus and Justin Hawkins already in their fan club, an album on its way and talk of a movie deal, their ‘Death To All But Metal’ mantra is likely to be going worldwide this year.
Maximo Park played an absolute blinder last Monday in the Dublin Academy, with plenty of new tracks from their Quicken The Heart album, which is released here on May 8. Needless to say, we cornered the boys in their dressing-room with the results to be found in our next issue.
The video for the lead single, ‘The Kids Are Sick Again’, is also a belter.

Finally, as Fight Like Apes get ready to shoot a new promo for ‘Something Global’ in Whelan’s, we thought we’d remind you just how ace their first ‘Jake Summers’ video was.
