Eleanor McEvoy and Gavin Friday get the thumbs up in the new issue of Hot Press.
In an interview that captures the true Sinead O'Connor, the singer talks to Hot Press about life, love, art, music and activism – taking detours through reflections both serious and humorous on her search for a man, her attitude to rock stars and the like, her decision to as she puts it “fuck right through” – and she explains her ongoing war against the Catholic Church.
She also spoke about the contemporary Irish artists she has the most time for:
"The artist that I admire most in Ireland at the moment is Eleanor McEvoy, because she did a couple of songs about the Church on her album."
O'Connor says she is currently enjoying Gavin Friday's latest work: "I admire those artists that are actually spiritually concerned. And have the balls to be concerned about that, and not concerned with fuckin’ George Bush’s dick."
