OMD are joining them on the tour bus.
Simple Minds play their biggest Irish headliners since Croke Park when they bring their Graffiti Soul Tour to the O2, Dublin (December 9) and Odyssey Arena, Belfast (10). Support is provided by fellow ‘80s survivors OMD whose mainman Andy McCluskey reflects: "Two bands that started in the same year but 300 miles apart, two young neighbours in each band inspired by the same heroes but driven to make different music. Two unplanned journeys from abstract art to international hits. Indeed forty of them between us! It's going to be a wonderful tour!"
Tickets priced €49.20 go on sale on Friday April 24.
The album which the trek derives its name from is out on May 25, and – if you’re quick off the mark – includes a bonus disc featuring covers of Neil Young’s ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’, Magazine’s ‘A Song From Under The Floorboards’, Thin Lizzy’s ‘Whiskey In The Jar’, Massive Attack’s ‘Teardrops’ and five more of their all-time favourite songs.
