Saucy Monky have announced a series of live dates in which they will be plugging their first full-length album
Saucy Monky have announced the release of their new album Turbulence, which will hit the shops in the first week in September. Turbulence, which is distributed by RMG in Ireland, is the band's first full album and follows in the wake of the highly praised mini-album Celebrity Trash, which was among the best debut records of 2003.
Saucy Monky, featuring Dubliner Annmarie Cullen and New Jersey girl Cynthia Catania on co lead vocal and songwriting duties, are based in Santa Monica in LA,, where they have become established among the leading lights on the indie scene. One of the most impressive successes of the recent Oxegen festival – and a huge hit at the Hot Press signing tent on the day – the American-Irish outfit have been picking up considerable airplay for the first single from the record, a cover of the Divinyls mini--classic, 'I Touch Myself'. They number Tom Dunne of Today FM and songwriter Nicky Kelly among their adocates.
The band have also announced an Irish tour to coincide with the release of Turbulence. The full list of dates confirmed so far is as follows:
Sunday, September 5 @ Whelan's, Dublin
Wednesday, September 8 @ Dolan's, Limerick
Thursday, September 9 @ Roisin Dubh, Galway
Friday, September 10 @ Connolly's of Leap, West Cork
Saturday, September 11 @ The Lobby, Cork

"A couple of other gigs may be added and there'll also be some PAs and other promo," a spokesperson told hotpress.com.
In the meantime, interest in the band in the US is gathering momentum, adding fuel to the speculation that Turbulence could prove to be one of the hottest debut albums ol the year.
