She mightn’t have won the Golden Globe, but Saoirse Ronan is walking on air this week after her dog was found – almost a month after he’d disappeared.
The thirteen-year-old actress, who was also nominated for a BAFTA this week for her co-starring role in Atonement, reveals in the current Hot Press how she was devastated to return home at Christmas to discover her dog had run away from her grandparents' home in Tallaght, Dublin. At the time, she admitted that there was little or no hope of the dog returning.
But Saoirse’s father, speaking to Hot Press from Hollywood on January 18, revealed that the dog was found wandering the streets of Dublin.
“The dog has been found by the way, the Blue Cross got it back to us, what a relief,” said Paul, who is also an actor, having starred in Ballykissangel and the movie The Devil’s Own.
Saoirse is flying out next week to New Zealand to continue work on Peter Jackson’s new movie, The Lovely Bones.
