His Bond theme is still dividing opinions as Spectre hits screens, but Sam Smith has already moved on to the next thing.
With debut album In The Lonely Hour getting a deluxe edition release on Friday, the English star has unveiled a previously unreleased tune that will feature on the Christmas stocking filler.
'Drowning Shadows' is the title and, talking to Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show, Smith singled it out as both the saddest and least radio-friendly song he's penned. Predating the likes of 'Stay With Me', he says of 'Drowning Shadows':
"I always loved it, but something didn't happen right with the production when we were going through different versions of it. Something didn't work. I thought of it recently when we were thinking about the repackage, and we went in and just did it with piano."
