Star of the Olympia Theatre show 'Once' is coming to Dublin next month.
Florida born singer songwriter Sam Cieri is set to perform his first Irish headline date Upstairs in Whelan’s on Sunday, 7 August.
Currently wowing audiences in the lead role of 'Guy', in the smash-hit show Once at the Olympia Theatre, for his Whelan’s gig Sam will perform a set comprising of his own material as well as some songs from Once.
"Coming to Ireland has always been a dream of mine," the singer said. "Once is a love song to Dublin and to be a part of that is an overwhelming and humbling experience. After seeing the film, I was inspired by Glen Hansard to start busking around. Now, just a few years later, to find myself performing the role of ‘Guy’ is a dream come true. The icing on the cake is to perform my own songs in such a fantastic and insanely historic live music venue as Whelan’s.”
Support on the night is from singer songwriter Dylan Reid. Hailing from Derry, Dylan, who is starring alongside Sam in ‘Once’ as Andrej, will be performing his own compositions.
