SOAK, the Clash, Brooooooce, Tom Jones & The Killers are among the eclectic mix!
Trip to the Lebanese border with Syria successfully completed - you’ll be able to read all about it in the 2016 Hot Press Annual - Free Music Friday is back with another boisterous collection of downloads, streams, trailers and vids. For those about to rock at Def Leppard, Whitesnake and Black Star Riders on Sunday in 3Arena, we also salute you!
SOAK has premiered the fabulous video for her ’Reckless Behaviour’ single, which will totally break your heart. It’s the handiwork of Bob Gallagher, a talented Dublin director who’s also shot some nifty promos for Girl Band, SPIES, Participant, Le Galaxie and Simon McHale.
Matthew Bourne leads the avant trio that’s remade Kraftwerk’s Radioactivity in honour of its 40th birthday. While nothing will better the original, it’s a seriously impressive and really quite sinister piece of work.

Men and women of a certain age will be delighted to hear that John Lydon’s former PiL bandmate Keith Levene has made available six unreleased live tracks from 1976 when he was playing with the Clash.
Nashville, Tennessee’s very fine Dualtone label treats fans to an early Xmas pressie with a free - but you’re welcome to tip! - sampler featuring the likes of Shovels & Rope, Wild Child, Shakey Graves and The Lumineers who are far more than the one-hit wonders you might presume them to be.
All Tvvins have done a seriously bang up job of covering Justin Bieber’s ‘Where R U Novv’ (sic).
Broooooooooce fans chomping at the bit for that deluxe The Ties That Bind: The River box-set can get another sneak peek courtesy of this live version of ‘Out In The Street’. The 4CD/3DVD collection includes a documentary that TG4 are screening on December 5. We’ve had a pre-release gander and it’s absolutely amazing!

It sounds like a fruity sexual practice, but ‘Dirt Sledding’ is actually the 10th annual charity Christmas single from The Killers, which has a rockabilly flavour. The chaps, who are currently assembling a new album, performed earlier in the week on a festive Jimmy Kimmel Live. We’re not entirely sure what’s going on with Brandon’s hair…
More fan footage has been surfacing of the World AIDS Day gig in New York’s Carnegie Hall spearheaded by Bono and the Edge. If you’ve dreamed of seeing them share a stage with Miley Cyrus and Jessie J and Hozier you’re in for a treat!Miley had trouble remembering the words - an errant autoprompt is being blamed - but otherwise it was quite the superstar jam.

Free Music Friday fave Davon King wrote this pearler of a tune in a hospital room while visiting his grandmother. Which makes him a very good boy indeed!
Antony Hegarty, who’s now trading as the rather tricky to say ANOHNI, has released the Hudson Mohawke-produced ‘4 Degrees’ to coincide with this week’s climate change conference in Paris. And a cracking piece of music it is too!
We’re loving this new tune and vid for Chris Montana’s ‘Dah Money’, Mr. Montana being one half of Shankhill’s seriously kicking Dah Jevu. It’s a fabulously funky old skool tune, with razorsharp lyrics.

Raglans have released three new live videos as an appetite-whetter for their upcoming Christmas shows in Monroe’s, Galway (December 17); Crane Lane, Cork (18) and Hangar, Dublin (19). “Like any good trilogy, the third instalment - our Die Hard: With a Vengeance if you will - is our most epic yet,” the band say of the wonderful ‘War Torn’. “As you can see, we had a lot of fun making this and we can't wait to share it with you!” Today finds the chaps in Amsterdam (danger here!) with Den Haag, Cologne, Berlin, Frankfurt and Ghent dates following in quick succession.
Peaches has come up with an ‘uncensored’ video for new single ‘Rub’, which won’t be getting too many Two Tube plays! From vagina-shaped rocks and public urination to willy brandishing drummers and full-frontal sex acts, Ms Nisker really does have it all going on…
