Unsigned bands can upload their videos to the Bedroom Jam website now.
The start of the New Year means but one thing – the return of the Red Bull Bedroom Jam.
Having uploaded a video to [link]redbullbedroomjam.com[/link], unsigned acts can see how popular their clips are courtesy of the Bedroom Jam Buzz Chart.
Also factoring in other social media activities such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, the chart’s top 15 bands will get to perform live on the website from their bedrooms. Eight will then be selected to play at top summer festivals like Download and T In The Park.
These will then be whittled down to three finalists who’ll go head to head in a public vote to see who walks away as the Bedroom Jam Champions, the prize for which includes a recording session and a support tour with an established band.
Irish acts figured prominently in 2010 with Artane’s Half Hour Heroes and Derry’s No Mean City both making it through to the bedroom gig stage.
Judges this year include Kids In Glass Houses frontman Aled Phillips, Live Nation V.P. Andy Copping, The Agency Group’s Beckie Sugden and Rocksound editor Darren Taylor.
The live 2011 Red Bull Bedroom shows go out every Monday at 5pm commencing February 21.
