The weekly webcast goes out every Monday at 5pm, and could be the big break you've been waiting for!
Irish acts are being invited to participate in the weekly Red Bull Bedroom Jam webcast, which kicked off a new series this week.
To take part, bands need to upload videos to redbullbedroomjam.com, and then wait to see if they get the nod from a judging panel that includes Fightstar lead singer Charlie Simpson, Live Nation Vice-President Andy Copping and Becky Sugden from leading bookers The Agency.
Of the 16 acts who make it on to the Monday at 5pm webcast, eight will get to perform at such major festivals as Underage, Download and T In The Park, and then possibly tour with a big name artist.
The only proviso being that at least one member of your hot to trot combo needs to be under the age of 19.
“I wish when I started out there was something like Red Bull Bedroom Jam!” Simpson reflects. “It’s a no-brainer for young talent to get involved with – what a great opportunity. I’m looking forward to checking out some talented new bands, supporting them on their journey and giving them advice.”
Adds MCD’s Niall Morris who books the Oxegen festival: “I’m delighted to see the Red Bull Bedroom Jam coming to Ireland. I’m sure it will provide as good a platform for some of our up and coming talent as it has done with bands like My Passion in the UK.”
The Red Bull Bedroom Jam webcasts will also feature guest acts – Frank Turner, Alexisonfire and Twin Atlantic are among those who performed last year – and make use of the latest ‘Buzz Radar’ technology to monitor the response to bands on social networking sites.
