There's another big month ahead at the Galway hotspot
Tis the season to be busy at Monroe's Live, as one of the focal points of live music in the West lines up a trio of top-notch evenings.
Leading the charge are R'n'B youngsters The Shades, who hit the venue on Friday, December 11. Having recently supported The Strypes on a raucous night at The Academy, the quintet are quickly making a name for themselves - and equally quickly building an arsenal of tunes to kickstart any party. Tickets are a steal at just €5.
A few days later, it's genre-jumping globe-straddling entertainment from The Cabeytu Brothers, we've carved out quite the niche with their brand of multi-instrumental fun. Country, folk, rock, pop, trad; if you can think of a type of music, these guys can play it - and damn well too! December 16 is the date for the diaries for that one - bring your dancing shoes, and leave your expectations at the door!
Possibly keeping the best till last, the following night will see Raglans (pictured) bringing their Irish tour to the City of the Tribes. After an action-packed 12 months including a rake of festival appearances as well as numerous continental jaunts, the Dublin-based quartet will undoubtedly be ready to celebrate the festive season in style; we'd highly recommend you head along and do similarly!
